Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday, October 12, 2008.

Sunday will be a wet day for southeastern Russia as a strong low pressure system spinning over the Sea of Okhotsk will produce substantial precipitation for the region. The Kamchatka Peninsula will see heavy rain starting in the morning and lasting for the rest of the day. The heaviest of the rain will move northward as the day progresses, with some of the more inland areas of southeast Russia getting snow from the system. Farther to the west, a pair of weak low pressure systems will produce a mix of rain and snow over central Russia, with some of the clouds possibly extending into eastern Mongolia later in the day. Meanwhile, a ridge over most of Asia will keep most of Mongolia, northern China, Japan, and the Korean Peninsula mostly clear on Sunday. Warm, moist air across central and southern China, as well as Southeast Asia, will fuel scattered showers and storms across those regions, while the Middle East will see fairly warm conditions.

To the south, a weak trough and onshore flow from a high pressure system off of the coast of eastern Australia will produce clouds and possibly showers for parts of Queensland and New South Wales on Sunday. Meanwhile, a cold front moving across the Great Australian Bight will graze the coastline of the southern part of the continent, bringing clouds and possibly precipitation to southern Australia. The rest of the continent can expect fairly clear conditions as high pressure will dominate.
